SEAD Case Competition
Also during the Symposium we will be kicking off this year's SEAD case competition! The SEAD Case Competition offers a unique opportunity for Duke graduate and undergraduate students to work together in teams to tackle real-time challenges facing an innovative health care initiative in the developing world.
Student teams will work through a real-life case scenario and develop concise, strategic recommendations for a client organization; the case will require an interdisciplinary approach that may involve issues related to policy, marketing, behavior change, and business. Teams have approximately three days to work on the case study and compete against other teams by submitting their recommendations to a panel of judges.

Keynote Address
This year's keynote address will feature Ann Mei Chang, Executive Director of USAID's U.S. Global Development Lab.
Prior to USAID, she was the Chief Innovation Officer at Mercy Corps, where she built highly scalable social ventures and leveraged mobile/internet to improve the lives of the poor. Previously, she served as the Senior Advisor for Women and Technology in the Secretary's Office of Global Women's Issues at the U.S. Department of State. At State she developed partnerships, influenced policy, and became a public voice on bridging the gender gap in access to mobile phones and the Internet, leveraging technology in improving the lives of women and girls in developing countries, and increasing the representation of women in the technology sector. She worked with USAID to conceive and launch the Alliance for Affordable Internet, a public-private partnership which aims to expand Internet access to the next billion through regulatory and policy reform.

Parking
It has come to our attention that during the Symposium, Duke University will also be hosting two of the NCAA women’s basketball championship games starting at 12:00PM. Due to this, we ask that if you are intending to park on campus that you give yourself plenty of time to try and find parking in the campus visitor lots. We also recommend carpooling with other attendees. The Bryan Center parking deck will be your best option for parking on campus. You can find information on visitor parking lots at Duke University here.
In addition to parking on campus, there are several off-campus options for getting to Duke University. From the downtown Durham parking decks, you can use the free Bull City Connector bus to get to campus. For more information on the Bull City Connector, please visit their site.
Duke also operates over 30 bus routes around the campus, several of which also have off-campus stops. The Duke buses are free for all visitors to Duke’s campus. If you park near Duke Hospital, we recommend taking the PR1: Bassett-Research Drive bus to Fuqua. This route begins behind the Duke Clinics building and stops in front of the Fuqua School of Business Science Drive entrance. More information on this route can be found here.
In addition, visitors from UNC-Chapel Hill are encouraged to ride the Robertson’s Scholars bus which connects the UNC and Duke campuses. More information on the Duke bus system and the Robertson’s Scholars bus can be found here.
